Judy Moore, flutist, teacher, and researcher, specializes in music of the Baroque period. She directs the State College area flute choir, Toot-in-Common. Degrees include bachelor of music education and music in flute performance from Peabody Conservatory and a PhD in music education from the University of Maryland.
In 2003, Judy retired from 26 years of teaching music in the Prince George's County Public Schools. A 2005 move to State College, Pennsylvania bought new challenges: focusing on a performing career and building a flute choir. Judy performs on baroque flute with the Penn State Baroque Ensemble and as part of the Junior Baroque series. She performs on modern flute with Vivace Duo, a flute/piano partnership with Ann Davis begun in 1990. In 2006, Judy formed Toot-in-Common, a flute choir, after returning from a musical tour of the Baltic States with the International Flute Choir.
